Onuoha Paul Nnamdi also known as
Dreadman is
the undisputed ‘Man of The Year’. The
talented Igbo
rapper who started out as a Dancer has
risen to
become one of Nigeria’s biggest music acts
today. He
is popular for hit tracks including “FIGHT
FOR YOU”,
“PAPAYA”,”DANGER FREESTYLE”, and
Others.
A decade of hard work and passion has
helped
transform the “Fight For You and Papaya”
Rapper/Dancer teleporting him from
underground hype to
a household name in Nigeria and beyond its
shores.
EARLY DAYS
Dreadman, who hails from Imo State
was born on 24th July 1999 and bred in Edo
State. He is the eight child out of 9 children.
He
got the name Dreadman, Because of His
love for Dreadlocks.
Dreadman started nursing his dream of
doing music
during his secondary school days. He
initially
wanted to become a Doctor, but was later
informed
that he could be a Computer Engineer. While
he was in high
school, he got himself thoroughly
acquainted with
the drums and piano. He also learned to
create his
own version of every recording he heard.
For his tertiary education, Dreadman
attended the
Federal University of Technology Owerri
where he studied Computer Science During
his
second year, he started making a few
bucks from
music.
CAREER AS A RAPPER AND DANCER
Dreadman has long been Dancing for the
likes of
Hotel Parties, Hotels Like: Concord Hotels,
All Seasons Hotel, and Uyi Grand Hotel ,
however, he only started
rapping in 2016 after moving down to
Owerri and
taking the advice of F2 to get into the booth
and try his hands at rapping.
In 2017, Dreadman started recording songs
for his debut
studio album, Ghetto Of Kings, in 2017
which
didn’t drop until early 2017. The album
featured
guest appearances from Sensebeat, F2,
Oga Micky, Donchill, PiloBoy,
Slow Dog and Mr cruz. Most of the
songs in the album were recorded in Igbo
and
Nigerian Pidgin. “Fight For You” which was
released
in December 2017 served as the album’s
lead single.
The song featured Yoruba superstar, Md
Blingx
and it went on to top numerous charts
across the
