How To Keep Files Private On Your Android Mobile Phone
#1
When you want to keep files private on your Android mobile phone, use a third-party privacy protecting application. You can find various types of privacy protecting applications on Android Market website that will hide your photos, videos, audio files and applications. You will need to use your Gmail user account information to log on to the website. Then, select a privacy protecting application that's compatible with your mobile phone.

Instructions

Step 1:
Perform an Android Maket search. Launch the Web browser on your Android mobile phone and type "market.android.com" in the search field. Tap the Search button (the magnifying glass icon). Tap on the "Gmail" link and enter your username in the "Username" text box. Enter your password in the "Password" text box. Tap the "Sign In" button when you are finished.

Step 2:
Type the keywords “Hide Pictures” or “Hide Apps” to locate a third-party privacy protection application that will hide files located in the default gallery on your Android phone. Tap the “Search” button.

Step 3:
Scroll down the list of privacy protecting applications until you see an Android Market app that you would like to use on your Android phone. Gallery Lock Pro, Photo Vault, Hide it, and Hide My Stuff are several third-party applications that will hide and store your files in a private folder on your Android mobile phone.

Step 4:
Tap on the “Buy” button if there is a price listed for the application that you want to download. Be sure to have your credit card information available. Follow the on-screen instructions for making a purchase.

Step 5:
Tap the “Install” button to download the application. Tap the “OK” button to confirm that you want to proceed with the installation. Follow the on-screen instructions. After the installation process is complete, look for the application icon in the “Application” list on your mobile phone. Tap on the icon to launch the application.

Step 6:
Follow the privacy protecting application instructions for setting up a password. Use the application's features to select a photograph, video, file, or application that you want to hide in the default gallery on your phone. For example, if you want to hide a photograph using the privacy protecting application “Photo Vault,” use the virtual keyboard to type in your password. Click on the “Menu” button to view a photograph that you want to hide.

Step 7:
Place your finger on the photograph and press down on it for several seconds. The application will automatically hide the photograph from the default gallery. To hide more than one photograph at a time, tap on the “Menu” button and select “Multi-Select.” Then select the photographs that you want to hide. Click the “Menu” button again to hide, unhide or delete any photographs that you have stored on your Android mobile phone.
